Nino Lejava
Head of Prague Office

Nino Lejava was Head of Office of the Heinrich Böll Stiftung in Prague from August 2019 until November 2020. From December 2011 until July 2019 she was the Head of the South Caucasus Regional Office of the Heinrich Böll Stiftung in Tbilisi. Previously, Lejava worked as the CIM (Centre for International Migration and Development) integrated specialist and policy consultant for Civil Society Development Programme at the Centre for Training and Consultancy (CTC) - a Georgian NGO for capacity building and civic education. Before the appointment at CTC Nino Lejava served as the deputy director and programme coordinator at the South Caucasus Regional Office of the Heinrich Böll Stiftung for 7 years. Temporarily, she already worked as a researcher for the London based Conciliation Resources project „Dealing with the Past: Research and Dialogue in the Georgian-Abkhaz Context“. Lejava is one of the founders of the Soviet Past Research Laboratory and a founding member of Translator´s Foundation named after Nelly Amaschukeli.

Nino Lejava studied international and European law at Tbilisi State University, Georgia, University of Hamburg, and Europa-Kolleg Hamburg, Germany. She has coedited a number of publications, including “Georgien, neu buchstabiert: Politik und Kultur eines Landes auf dem Weg nach Europa“ (2018) and “South Caucasus at a Crossroad: Thorny Realities and Great Expectations” (2014).
