Brno (*1967)

This Czech historian and museologist, who holds the position of Director of the Museum of Roma Culture in Brno, is partially of Romani heritage. She was born into and grew up in a highly educated family in Brno. Her father, Karel Holomek, was one of the first Romani activists in Czechoslovakia and was also a politician before the dissolution of the country in 1993. He is the son of Tomáš Holomek, who was the first university-educated Roma in the history of the Czech Republic. Ms Horváthová is married and is raising three children with her husband, who is a cardiac surgeon from a Slovak-Romani musical family.
