
Georg McCutcheon works as EU Policy Advisor in the European Union and North America Division of the Heinrich-Böll-Stiftung in Berlin, where he is responsible for its programme on the future of the European Union. His work focusses on policy reform in key areas, including economic and fiscal policy, foreign and security policy, and areas related to the green transition, with the goal of creating a just, ecological, and resilient EU that has sufficient capacity to act.
Previously, he worked as a Project Officer in the same division at the Heinrich-Böll-Stiftung.
Before joining the Heinrich-Böll-Stiftung, he was a Desk Officer with the Syria Team at the European Commission’s Directorate-General for European Civil Protection and Humanitarian Aid Operations (DG ECHO) in Brussels. Prior work experience also includes internships at the German Corporation for International Cooperation (GIZ). He holds an MA in Global Political Economy and a BA in Politics and International Relations, both from the University of Sussex (UK).
